Comfort Zone is the End of Self Development

While comfort zone maybe a way for steady income for a period of time, it's usually an end to self development and by the end of this article you'll have a proof why.
Comfort zone means that the person has totally adapted interacting with the unique personally traits around, therefore there isn't new interpersonal challenges because s\he now knows how to deal with all of them to get the job done after many, many years of service.
In my career I have met many kind of managers/owners with the personality traits that had an impact on me,  and I on them. Here I categorize them with the properties of the 4 elements, Fire, Water,  Air, Earth. The 2 elements mentioned are the dominant in them. Dominance of an element may indicate positive and negative traits of the same element.

Water (Emotions) / Air (Intelligence):
One of the great direct managers I worked with was emotionally intelligent. For new graduates this kind is perfect for them because he will be patient to teach them how to be lean without taking harsh actions at the start of one's career. They will be compassionate, understanding and fair. However, they may have some problems in their personal career against the Fire dominant ones. 

Fire (Will) / Earth (Confidence):
Very dominant, down to earth people. They know how to bend people to their will. They will always put pressure to get the maximum output but they will tend to break cultural barriers and privacy. To deal with them successfully you have to master Air (intelligence) and Water (emotions) interchangeably with a bit of Fire (personal will). You will learn from them how to have your personal space and be confident in it but if you left the fire lose without stopping it, it will eat (occupy) all your personal space/freedom.

Water (Emotions) / Earth (Confidence):
Caring but very impulsive. In the computer technology field, hiring 2 managers in the same position does not work. I could get along the lack of Air element with this type of manger through continuous discussions but the decision to keep peers of the same field in the same position cannot be overcome especially when there are security concerns where the older employee has full control over the system passwords. I could learn from this manager one thing thought; Faith.

Fire (Will) / Air (Intelligence):
This is one of the most interestingly challenging and rare manager types. They are dominant through their intelligence. If you're not 100% sure of your reasoning, then not talking is a better option.  If this kind of manager perfected their Water (emotional) element, they will be unstoppable. I've learned from them how to focus on my actions and memorize the knowledge and this can only be done by being constantly aware and present during the moment (or at least during working hours).

Everyone has their own personality elemental setup and hitting different elemental dominance will teach them something new about themselves. This is why comfort zone is a refrigerator for your soul. It will freeze your personal self development. Always seek to know and interact with new people for there is no gain without friction. Internal transfer, or career shifting takes courage but the result it will have on you is priceless.
